About The Reformed Arsenal
The Reformed Arsenal is a theological blog dedicated to providing Reformed content for the edification of the Church, making the rich theological heritage of the Reformed tradition accessible to believers at all levels of theological understanding. The blog is authored by Tony Arsenal, a seminary-trained layperson with Master of Arts degrees in Church History and Theology. While Tony is not an ordained minister, he brings formal theological education and practical ministry experience to his writing. He is a member of an Orthodox Presbyterian Church and occasionally provides pulpit supply at his home church and other churches in the area. All content should be understood as educational material for personal study and growth rather than authoritative church teaching. Though informed by rigorous theological training and grounded in the confessional Reformed tradition, the articles and analyses presented here represent the reasoned reflection of a theologically educated layperson seeking to serve the broader church through accessible theological content.
The Reformed Arsenal operates within the confessional Reformed tradition, particularly as expressed in the Westminster Standards, affirming the authority of Scripture as the infallible Word of God and seeking to understand and apply biblical truth through the lens of Reformed theological principles. Our motto, Studium semper persequi gloriae Dei, is Latin for “the study is always in pursuit of God’s glory.” This encapsulates our fundamental approach: we do not study theology merely for intellectual exercise, but rather to pursue the glory of God through deeper knowledge of Him as He has revealed Himself in Scripture. The blog explores topics including systematic theology, biblical exegesis, church history, practical theology, and contemporary applications of Reformed doctrine, maintaining scholarly rigor while ensuring content remains accessible to thoughtful readers seeking to grow in their understanding of the Reformed faith.
